How I Would Style Polka Dots

Polka dots are nothing new. You could open up any photography book from any time period and there would be at least 1 person in there wearing polka dots. Yet every season, I’m in awe of how designers can reimagine the classic spots of the polka dot. For the vast majority of us who don’t walk down high fashion runways, polka dots are most often associated with children’s clothes. In fact, the last polka dotted outfit I wore was to my 5th birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese. But polka dots are for adults too dammit! And because fashion should be fun, I made it my yearly mission to incorporate more polka dots into my closet (I’m very devoted to stripes and need to diversify the patterns in my wardrobe).

I also happen to be a loyal follower of the instagram page databutmakeitfashion. Her analytical fashion research is such a unique insight into trends within the fashion world. Anywho, Madé (the creator behind the account) recently posted that polka dots would be popular in 2025. So, what better way to test this out than to style some spotted pieces myself.
